Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31 1965 is an American actress. When she was a model as a child, she was praised by critics when she played the leading role in Louis Malle's movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teenage period, and was highly praised for her role in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby. Shields made minor film roles and then returned to acting in the 1990s. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), where she earned two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. Shields was back on NBC in 2017 to reprise her role as a major role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified's 19th season. Shields has the role of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was a Manhattan, New York, native on May 31st in 1965. She is the daughter of Teri Shields, a model and actress, and Frank Shields, a businessman (1941-2003). According to the work of William Addams-Reitwiesner, Shields is related to various noble families of Italy and particularly Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi of Civitella Cisi is the Italian noblewoman, and daughter of an American prince, was Teri's paternal grandmother. Her great-uncle was Italian nobleman Alessandro Torlonia, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain.When Teri announced that she was pregnant, Frank's family gave her a payment to terminate the pregnancy.
