Moss (born February 13 1977) is a former American football player. He was a
former American football player who played 14 seasons within the National
Football League (NFL), including with the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders
and the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Along with Jerry Rice, he is
widely regarded as being the greatest wide receiver ever. Moss holds the NFL
single-year touchdown reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the rookie NFL
single season touchdown mark (17 in 1998). He is in the top spot in the NFL all
time regular season touchdown list with 156. Moss is famous for his ability to
catch contested passes. The word "mossed" was coined by the NFL and
has been incorporated into the football vocabulary, became famous because of
the fact that he was a successful. Following football, he began working with
ESPN as an analyst for its studio Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night
Countdown programs. Moss was from Rand, West Virginia native. He was a student
at DuPont High School. It was one of two schools which eventually merged to
form Riverside High School. There was a great player in basketball, football,
baseball tracks, and many other sports. Randy was also on the school's debate
team. Moss led the DuPont Panthers football team to two consecutive state
championships in 1992, 1993. Moss was a top wide receiver. He also played free
safety and returned punts. In 1994, he was honoured by the Kennedy Award as the
West Virginia Football Player of the Year. Parade magazine named him to their
annual All-American high school football team in 1995. in 2009 named him as one
of the 50 most influential football players in high school ever.
