Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American comedian, actress, and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents She began her career as a child actor soon after her move to the United States. From 2013 until 2016 she worked as the AT&T salesperson Lily Adams, and since 2020. She rose to fame for her roles in television commercials. In addition to her commercial appearances, she was an actor in the series on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction show Other Space (2015). She also played the role of a regular character on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016)-2017. After being cast in the TV pilot unaired for New Warriors, Vayntrub also is the voice of Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rising. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. At the age of two, she immigrated together with her parents to U.S. to escape antisemitism. She was able to settle in West Hollywood. She began performing in Mattel Barbie commercials at the age of five because of the financial difficulties of her family. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. But, she dropped out of her sophomore year, and subsequently obtained the GED. After that she went on to earn the Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of California San Diego. She was introduced to improv comedy through the Upright Citizens Brigade.
