Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this role she received the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin, born July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress playing the enthusiastic and curious child of Holly Hunter's main role on the film The Piano. Following a prompt to auditions open at age nine and having no previous experience in acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the child of an Scottish musician who was blind. The couple moved into New Zealand during the middle of the 19th century in order to plan a wedding. When she was in her teens, the actress relocated to America. Paquin was in a brief role as the title character when she was a child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 movie Amistad. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
