April Ross

April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals at least twice in an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. Ross is hoping to secure an Olympic the first medal of gold, but she's also hoping for greater. With her age of 39, this may be her final opportunity to claim an Olympic gold. Her confidence is high nevertheless. If we play our best or even if we perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going put my faith in a touch of good luck. Ross born the 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Ross played in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball, running and track. She was definitely the best player in indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle volleyball player throughout her time in high school. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. In 2000, she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their relationship in 2017 However, Ross has been a beach player for years prior to. She has won major tournaments twice with different partners. The other is an icon in the world of volleyball. The pair teamed with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's trainer. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force in the world circuit, winning a world title in 2009. The duo won silver at London's Olympics. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, took each other to take home the gold medal. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The team won bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college years before becoming a professional. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was amazing. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. The Trojans could also get to the Final Four with her help. She endured a great personal loss in her sophomore, but was still able to achieve the All-American title. Over her final 2 seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship each year. In 2003-2004, she was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in America according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001 when Ross was in the midst of being a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. Margie is a source of inspiration in her life and on the beach.
