Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professional name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. There are two younger half siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was only seven her family moved in Mendocino County California. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious book reader because there was no television. Ryder started to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 in the year she turned 12 years old. After she reached the age of 15 Ryder landed a role in Lucas her first big film. Ryder suffered bullying in the school she attended. Her professional acting, she believed, would help her. It did not work out. The actress continued to chase the goals she had set for herself. She made her debut in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was a star in several films. In 1993, she was nominated twice in the Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
